The country’s mentor scheme  has been launched by the Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal  . Through this scheme, children studying in government schools of Delhi will be provided guidance by Mentos. Sonu Sood will be the brand ambassador of this scheme. This scheme will be launched in September 2021. This scheme has been started keeping in mind that the parents of poor children studying in government schools are not much educated. In such a situation, there   is no one to guide them regarding their career . Through this scheme, an appeal will be made to educated citizens across the country to take responsibility of at least 2-10 children of government school and provide career guidance to them.

The mentor can contact the child via phone and can also meet the child if he or she is nearby. Actor Sonu Sood  has appealed to citizens across the country  to join this scheme. Sonu Sood himself will also provide guidance to the children. The announcement to start this scheme was made by the Chief Minister on 27 August 2021 through a press conference.

The country’s mentor scheme was suspended

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights has given immediate orders to the Delhi Government to stop the mentor scheme of the country. It is being raised that potential perpetrators may misbehave with children through this scheme. This scheme was started by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on 11 October 2021. Through this scheme the students of government schools of Delhi were to be provided guidance on career options by successful citizens in their respective fields. A notice has been issued by the commission to the Delhi government. In which it has been asked to provide compliance report with supporting documents within 7 days.

NCPCR has expressed the possibility that children may be put in danger through this scheme. Because this scheme connects children with unknown persons. The first notice in this regard was given to the Delhi government on 7 December 2021. The Delhi government answered the questions on 3 January 2022. On January 11, 2022, again a notice has been issued by NCPCR to the Delhi Government in which NCPCR has directed the Delhi Government to discontinue the scheme till all the loopholes are removed.

Country’s mentor scheme launched

The country’s mentor scheme has been launched by the Delhi government from 11 October 2021 in all government schools in Delhi. This scheme was earlier launched in pilot mode only in some government schools. Now it will be conducted in all government schools of Delhi. The Chief Minister has appealed to all the youth to definitely connect with the children in the form of mental and help them in making their bright future. Guidance can be provided by the mentor to the children of 9th, 10th and 11th class by talking on the phone for only 10-15 minutes daily. On this occasion, Education Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia also appealed to the youth to become mentors. Mentos under this scheme will not only be citizens of Delhi.

Any youth of the country can provide mentorship to the children of Delhi. An app has also been launched by the government for this. This app can be downloaded by giving missed call on 7500040004. Students will be able to become empowered through this scheme. This scheme has been started under Youth for Education. Youth from all over the country will be connected through this scheme. This scheme has been prepared by the Directorate of Education, Government of Delhi.
